Sending Quiz Question Details to an LMS?

Hello,

I'm looking for help in sending the quiz questions and student responses, along with the final course score, to our LMS.

I've tried a few different things and am not having any success. Here's what I've tried:

  • Added question level results slides to each scene and a final results slide that then combines all of the other slides and reported on just the final results slide.
  • I also tried having the results slides for each scene without the additional results slide. The scenes are branched so a learner only needs to complete one quiz.

Any thoughts on what I'm missing? I've gone back and forth on these a couple of times and added triggers and hidden layers and feel like I almost need to go back and delete all of the current results slides to get a fresh start.

    Hi Tami,

    From what I have read, it is standard for a SCORM 2004 module to contain the question text data.

    Running a Storyline module from the LMS in Debug Mode allowed me to verify this, because I could see the text from the questions displaying. They were showing up as being associated with the JavaScript string variable (text variable) called "strDescription."

    I have successfully altered the scormdriver.js file in published SCORM modules to allow the ADP (Litmos) LMS to report both the question text and the student response.

    If the learner only needs to complete one quiz, I would use the second option you mentioned: a quiz with a Results slide in each scene. 

    Be sure each quiz is labeled as a Final Assessment. 

    Also verify that every quiz is listed in Tracking Options when you publish for the LMS. This image below just shows two finals. Your screen should show all three of your results slides:

    As the highlighted text in the above image indicates, the data from first quiz completed will be reported to the LMS. 

    Verify with the LMS folks which settings you should use for LMS Reporting and for Output Options. 

     

    How you pull the data depends on the LMS. Talk to those folks. 

    Note: You can also test your course in the SCORM CLOUD. If it works there, but not in your LMS, then you know the issue is LMS specific.
