Rise Scenario Word Limit
We are looking to use Rise to build simulations but we have hit a snag. It seems the scenario block limits the number of characters you can use in the speech bubbles etc. to 150. Is this seriously a limitation or are we missing something? We may be able to re-write content to reduce the word count but what exactly is the thinking around translation? German for example generally is 30% longer than English.
This is a prohibitive restriction that leaves Rise dead in the water for this application.

This blog includes a cheat sheet with the character limits for Rise: https://endurancelearning.com/blog/rise-character-counts/
Yes, the limits can be restrictive. Unfortunately, I think that's the trade-off for Rise being an easy-to-use, form-based tool. If you want more control, you'll have to use Storyline (or other software).

I understand the restrictions but 150 seems to be excessively restrictive. We wanted to use Rise to mobilse the content, with this kind of restriction it is a non-starter. We translate into 42 languages, there is no way we can accommodate all of those languages with only 150 characters.
Hi Kai!
You're right, Scenario block dialogue responses are limited to 150 characters. We set that character limit to ensure your text is legible on all devices, especially on smaller mobile screens.
Thanks for sharing that increasing the Scenario block character limit is important for you, especially since you are translating the Rise course into different languages. We'll share this with our team, and we'll let you know if we'll implement this in the future!

I agree that 150 characters is far too limiting. I would like to set up a Question and Answer presentation, and the Scenario feature would be a great way to do this, but 150 characters is completely insufficient. Would it be possible to increase this?
Thanks and regards
Alex

I wholeheartedly agree with Kai, 200 characters for the scenario and 150 for the responses are too restrictive, It would be great if that limit could be increased.

I agree, this 150 is very limiting. This isn't meant to be a mindless Twitter platform. You do need to provide enough information to the learner. You can hardly make things sound natural or cover important details that may be needed. The justification that it is because of small screens is silly, since the proposed solution is to make it in Storyline. But wouldn't that mean it becomes long and wouldn't be optimal on the small screen? Nor would a block containing the storyline component format well for small screens. The solution is not a solution for obvious reasons. Since it's 3+ years since the first post and no improvement...not surprised, it seems to take a decade (or never) to see any movement on obvious problems in this software.
